描述:

Ionomycin (Ca) from Streptomyces conglobatus is a nonfluorescent ionophoric antibiotic employed in research focused on Ca²⁺ transport across biological membranes; it is a highly selective and potent calcium ionophore. The Ca²⁺/ionomycin complex forms between pH 7-9.5 which has intense UV absorption. Ionomycin induces apoptotic degeneration of embryonic cortical neurons and cell cycle arrest at G₁ phase. It is more effective than A23187 and provides a useful tool for increasing intracellular Ca²⁺ concentration.
