描述:N-Acetyl-S-geranylgeranyl-L-cysteine (AGGC) is a substrate for the carboxyl methyltransferase that is shown to inhibit Ras carboxyl methylation. The Ras subfamily is usually responsible for cell proliferation and inhibition of it will cause a halt in cell division. This compound has been noted to also be a competitive inhibitor for prenylcysteine methyl transferase which doubles the rate of basal and stimulates insulin secretion in a reversible and ATP-dependent manner. Additionally, this agent has been found to inhibit Integrin β2-induced actin polymerization in neutrophils.
