描述:NDGA (Nordihydroguaiaretic acid) is an anti-oxidant 5-LO (5-lipoxygenase) inhibitor lignan found in Larrea tridentata. NDGA has been shown to synergistically enhanced the cytotoxicity of DOX, CPT and MTX on tumor cells. NDGA has been shown to inhibit the TGFβ R1 (TGF-β type 1 receptor) by repressing Smad2 phosphorylation. NDGA has displayed antimutagenic effects in a number of cell models through proposed action as a chain-breaking antioxidant. NDGA has also displayed antimicrobial activity. Additionally, this compound is an inhibitor of epidermal and hepatic CYP (cytochrome P450).
